WASHINGTON — A Cobb County landlord has been fined $150,000 for violating a local law requiring landlords to pay tenant rent every month.
The city of Lynnwood says it received complaints from a woman in the town of West Lynnwood who said she was being evicted from her home after failing to pay rent.
Lynnwood said the property was owned by the Cobb County Landlord and Tenant Board and the county’s Department of Real Estate.
According to a city press release, the Landlord was not required to pay the tenant rent.
The city says the board agreed to settle the complaint for $150.
The complaint was filed with the Landlords Office.
