AZ – A woman who says she was raped in a hotel room by a man she had been talking to for months has filed a police report and police say the incident has not been reported to the police department.
Marissa Martinez-Reyes, 28, says she met with a man who told her he wanted to have sex with her and she would be paid $2,000.
Martinez-Reyas says he had a history of domestic violence.
He told her she could leave if she stopped sleeping with him and he was staying with her at the hotel.
The next day, he allegedly raped her.
She claims she was able to get a taxi home and later called the police, who were able to identify him as the man who raped her on Feb. 23, 2016.
Martez-Ryres filed a lawsuit against the hotel where she says she stayed, The Sheraton in Gilbert, and the Arizona Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, which is investigating.
She says the police have been unable to contact the hotel, which did not respond to an interview request.
She says the man also told her the man he raped was his brother, who he had been dating for a month.
